This Pokémon's organism is mostly composed of water and thus is very sensible to changes in the weather. If Popkern ever reaches elevated temperatures, it will evolve.

Name origin: popcorn / pop + kernel
Popkern and Pipkorn are ancient! When I was like 13 I found out I could... design my own mons? And something unlocked in my brain. The first ever fakemon I drew were a bomb and a cannon that evolved from it. But the next day or so I doodled a bunch of other ideas, including a corn and popcorn that had emoticon faces... for some reason. It was a random idea, but so was everything back in the 2010s. I felt very clever coming up with an idea for a grass/fire design that followed some natural logic.
