Gladion (01x4v3mi)
1 ratingGladion doesn’t say much, but he cares deeply about his friends, family, and Pokémon. He used to be much more rebellious and fixated on becoming stronger.
Battle Sprite: Kyledove
Design Notes:
The girl's brother
Name: Gladiole is the German word for gladiolus.
A general term for plants in the Gladiolus genus of the Iridaceae family.
His name comes from the ancient Roman sword Gladius.
The flower's meanings are secret rendezvous, caution, memories, forgetfulness, and victory.
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Appearance: Blonde hair and blue eyes. Well-formed features.
Though thin for someone still growing, he eats little.
However, he has the muscles of a swimmer.
He dresses in a grunge style.
Represents breaking away from the stereotypes of formal wear.
Character: His rival position in this work.
To be himself, to be free, he needs strength, and he is trying to obtain that strength as a Pokémon Trainer.
In rebellion against the fact that he exists only to highlight his mother, the representative of the foundation, he left the Aether Foundation two years ago.
At that time he took Chimera (tentative name) with him.
He is doing the same thing as the girl.
He makes a living as a bodyguard for Team Skull, but he is not affiliated with the organization and lives in a cheap motel with his partner Pokémon Chimera (tentative name).
He regards Pokémon battles as training, and tries not to think about right or wrong.
At the motel, he mends his own tears, feeling the joy of doing things for himself.
He confronts the protagonist at the request of Team Skull,
but as the protagonist seems to be enjoying his freedom at the Island Festival (island hopping),
he takes it personally, as opposed to the restricted freedom he feels.
He is concerned about the girl who was left at the foundation.
When he finds out that the protagonist has helped the girl, his feelings change from hostility to gratitude.
He shares the same view as the girl, that battles in which Pokémon are unnecessarily hurt should be avoided.
He follows a somewhat twisted version of Bushido as his model.
He does not understand the difference between Bushido and Chivalry, but his longing for foreign lands (to break away from everyday life) is the reason he chose Bushido, and this is the cause of his so-called chuunibyou-like behavior.
Unlike the girl, he casually uses famous quotes he reads in books, which leaves others perplexed.
He keeps his distance from the Aether Foundation and those involved.
However, the fact that his mother, the representative of the Aether Foundation, and the boss of Team Skull are in cahoots with each other
is nothing but ironic to him, and it makes him realize how small the world is and makes him realize that going outside is not the only way to grow.
After completing the game, he returns to the Foundation to help protect Pokémon while aiming to become a stronger Trainer.
As the representative of the Foundation and the girl move to another region, he will also take on the position of representative.
※A character that represents the rebellion that boys and girls of this age feel towards their parents.
