Add a feature for pokedexes to add types that aren’t in the real games.

Hello! New types probably will not be added unless it’s absolutely needed. Types such as cosmic type broadly overlaps with psychic and or fairy type and is unnecessary.

What about a light type
Or a magic type.

We do actually have Light type on Pokengine, being used by the Nodorro dex if you'd like to check it out.

why would magic be needed when it so heavily overlaps with psychic? balancing types is hard, and just throwing random ones in can damage gameplay

How about Cosmic?

It is supereffective against Rock-, Steel-, Dragon-, and Flying-types
It is weak against Psychic-, Fairy-, Fire-, and Electric-types

Flying-type moves have no effect on it

What about a Chemical type?

It is supereffective against Psychic-, Bug-, Grass-, and Poison-types
It is weak against Water-, Ground-, Fairy-, and Steel-types

I feel there are lots of similarities with the Poison-type, and I second what Lucas said about how balancing types is hard and just throwing new ones in can damage gameplay.
By making it strong against Bug and Grass but weak against Fairy and Steel, you're just making some weak types weaker and some strong types stronger. Grass already has 5 weaknesses, it does not need a sixth lol.
Lots of your proposed matchups (such as being strong on Grass but weak to Ground) are identical to the Poison-type, further highlighting the similarities between the two. It's your choice if you plan to include it in your fangame, but personally I don't see a strong distinction.
